The Upcycled Food Association
In 2021, the Upcycled Food Association set in motion a pioneering certification framework designed specifically for upcycled ingredients and products.
According to this standard, a minimum of 10% upcycled components is mandated for products, while upcycled certified ingredients should be composed of at least 95% food initially meant for human consumption. To date, an ever-growing number of brands, currently surpassing 50, have seen their products distinguished with the Upcycled Certified badge.
